Family, Couples, and Individual Therapy

A question posed by my mother entering into any conversation growing up, whose repetition used to grind my gears, is now a question I find myself constantly embodying and valuing in my professional life: “Would you like me to respond, or would you like me to listen?”

As a therapist, I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to serve as a guide, facilitator, and safe space as I collaborate with you to explore your therapeutic goals. Depending on what feels helpful to you, I am able to act as your sounding board, and I am able to challenge you.

Emma Vukelic, LMFT

My name is Emma Vukelic, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Boston area. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business from Northeastern University in 2017. In 2020, I graduated from William James College with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also serve as a board member of the New England Association for Family and Systemic Therapy (NEAFAST).

My systemic training and professional development drive me to work with couples, families, and individuals. Whether you are one person or a family of six, I apply a relational perspective and consider the impact of all systems you are a part of, including family, friends, community, culture, identity, etc. My background and experience over the past 8 years includes providing care to couples, families, and individuals across several different levels of care for a variety of presenting concerns, including relational conflict, depression, anxiety, coparenting, trauma, and substance use. My therapeutic practice integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Bowenian, Attachment Theory, and strengths-based approaches.

Wherever you are is where our work begins. My style is compassionate, transparent, curious, and collaborative. I create an environment that invites you to engage vulnerably and explore openly with yourselves and with one another, shifting towards growth, understanding, connection, and repair.

I recently transitioned into private practice where I currently offer both in person and telehealth therapy to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, and families. I now offer in person sessions two days weekly in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline. I welcome children, adults, couples, and families from all backgrounds and identities, and I strive towards culturally responsive and attuned care.
